2BACH – 2017/18 – “Advertising” by our English assistant (Keila Williams)

Last Friday we enjoyed another class with our English assistant Keila. This time she was with the students of 2nd year of Bachillerato and  she talked about advertising, the ways to advertise a product and how advertisers try to attract our attention to buy things that sometimes are useless or simply we don’t need them.

She made us feel very confident and we shared with her our views about the topic.

2017 – Language immersion – March, 10th

Our last day at the Academy, what a pity! While we were being given the certificates, we were feeling a mixture of sadness and happiness at the same time; sadness because we had to say goodbye to our teachers, who have been excellent  and very helpful, but also happiness because we have learnt a lot and we have been able to get by quite well in English.

We spent our last afternoon with our host families. They all have been very caring. We are sure we’ll miss them. It was also time to pack again. We managed to put all our things into the suitcases. It was hard work as we carried extra load of clothes and souvernirs.
Tomorrow we are flying back to Zaragoza. The end of an English adventure that we’ll never forget.
Mañana volvemos a Zaragoza.

2017 – Language immersion – Thursday, March 9th

Thursday, March 9th

A lovely day today! The sun was shining and it was very hot.  After lunch, we took a ferry to go to Corfe Castle. It is a beautiful place. We took some photos of the ruined Castle.

After 5 days living with our host families, we feel very confortable and more confident when speaking. We asked them to take some photos with us, just to have fond memories of our stay in here and they agreed to it gladly.

2017 – Language immersion – Wednesday, March 8th

Wednesday, March 8th

Another day raining! We were late for the first time!! The reason was that it took us long to get to the Academy, because of the heavy rain. There was a lot of traffic, so the teachers didn’t tell us anything as it was not our fault.

There is a rule at the Academy that says that it is absolutely forbidden to speak in Spanish during the time we are there. If we break the rule, we are fined some pennies. Fortunately, we haven’t been fined a lot!!!
In the afternoon, we visited Poole Harbour and we shopped for souvernirs in its lovely shops. Poole is famous for its pottery.
After dinner, we planned to go to the Laser centre to spend a good time together, fighting against each other. Quite entertaining indeed!!!

2017 – Language immersion – Tuesday, March 7th

Tuesday, March 7th

It has stopped raining at last!!! Today we were in class on time, so the teachers were very pleased. In the afternoon we took a bus again, this time, to visit the city of Salisbury, which has a very famous cathedral, known by its 123 metre high spire.

Our dinners with the families are very entertaining. We eat very well and we enjoy nice conversations with them.

2017 – Language immersion – Monday, March 6th

Monday, March 6th

Still raining. Although Monday was a holiday in Zaragoza, here we had to get up very early in the morning to go to the Academy on our first day. Before starting the lessons, our teachers, María and Susana, called us together and we watched the video of the weekly reflection: “Guillermo, thanks for your words”.

Then, we were given a speech by one of the teachers in the Academy. He told us about the rules we must follow so that everything goes all right.
After that, we were divided into two groups and the classes started.
We had lunch at the Academy and in the afternoon, we took a double-decker bus and went to visit the city of Christchurch.

2017 – Language immersion – Sunday, March 5th

Sunday, March 5th
The day dawned rainy, a typical day in England. It was our first day in Bournemouth, so we spent the morning walking around town. We visited the beach and the shopping area, where there was an enormous shopping mall.
We were also shown the places of our interest: the Academy where we were going to attend classes during the week and the bus stops where we had to take the bus to get there.
At 6:00 p.m. we went back to our houses to share the dinner with our host families. As it was such an early dinner, we still had time to meet again at the Bowling Alley.
